4 out of 5 stars Cool gadget for the price but a couple problems   July 25, 2010
D. Hunter (Seattle, WA)
Definitely has the wow factor and it's fun showing it off to people have never seen one. Only a few problems with it:

1) You can only open a handful of bottles before it needs recharging. Wouldn't be a big deal except there seems to be no auto-shutoff feature when it is fully charged, nor even an indication light when it is fully charged.

2) Often the screw will go all the way through the bottom of the cork which results in tiny bits of cork hitting the inside of the neck or the wine itself. The mechanism of the device requires that you keep holding the button until the cork is removed so you can't just stop the screw short. If you are very serious about your wine, I might avoid this corkscrew because of it (I don't really mind that much).

3) As you might imagine, not as swift as a rabbit-style corkscrew.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic wine opener   July 21, 2010
Bob DUMON (New Bern, North Carolina United States)
I've tried all kinds of wine openers over the years... waiter's style, Rabbit, wings, corkscrew varieties, you name it, but THIS is the slickest and easiest of them all. Just hold the device firmly down over a cork (real OR plastic) and push the DOWN button. When it's screwed it's way through the cork it will stop. Push the UP button, and the cork comes out. Push the down button while holding the cork again and it removes it. This thing is also rechargeable, and comes with an excellent foil cutter. GREAT birthday or holiday gift!!! Love it.

5 out of 5 stars Shouldn't have waited so long   July 11, 2010

I waited too long to purchase this. Have been using a wine opener designed in the middle ages. This item does everything and then some.

4 out of 5 stars Emerson dependable and less expensive   July 10, 2010
Russell Case (Largo, Fl)
I received the Emerson as a qift over a year ago. I use it every other day and it still functions perfectly. You can get it for about $5.00 less than this one.

5 out of 5 stars Best invention since the wheel   July 10, 2010
B Natural
This is the second one I bought, and I bought this as a gift.

It is absolutely great, and works beautifully.

It works with all different caulks, whether natural or synthetic.

Do not use with ones that are rotten or spoiled, and his pieces can get stuck inside and they are difficult to remove.

But as I said this is a great great product, and in our house gets used daily.
