I love the rice cooker. The timer is really good and allows us to make rice conveniently any time for the day. I love how you can make anywhere between 4 and 16 cups of cooked rice. Does a good job making rice.

This is a nice product. I love to steam vegetables, too, especially potatoes for potato salad. One minor thing, wish there was a removable lid liner for easier cleaning.

Having lived in Asia for many years, I was used to rice that was cooked well. Returning to the states I found that I resumed cooking in my old way with a pan - simply not a good way to do it. Over the years I have had many rice cookers, but this one is the simply the best of them all. Easy to use, and with the added advantage of being able to steam veggies in the basket over the rice. It is no larger than most rice cookers, but is does a lot more work. The pan removes easily and is also easy to clean - an absolute must in my book. If this one dies I would buy another in a heart beat!

Works just fine. It's simple and basic, and good for cooking small quantities of rice. Just right for 2, or maybe up to 4, people. The non-stick coating makes for easy cleanup. And since it doesn't have a "warm" feature, there's even less chance of rice sticking to the bottom. The warm feature isn't really needed, since one is likely to use up what's been cooked during one's meal, before the rice gets cold.
Sometimes, while cooking, the rice water will foam up and sputter out the side.
Well, some varieties of rice DO create more foam than others.
I don't think foaming is the fault of the rice cooker; rice just tends to foam while cooking. Try rinsing the rice several times before cooking. That usually reduces the amount of foam. Some people even soak the rice for a while before cooking, but this can be a nuisance if time is an issue.
This IS a rather small cooker, so cooking 2 or more cups of uncooked rice will be more likely to cause some sputtering, although, once again, the variety of rice that you cook and whether you rinse the uncooked rice a few times first makes the difference between sputtering out or not. But really, it's not a big deal if it does!

Does just what it's supposed to do.
With this, and all rice cookers I've ever used, you do have to follow the directions exactly. If 2 cups (as with this one) is the minimum number of cups of rice it lists, then 2 cups is the least you can make. Making less won't work. Likewise for trying to make more than what is listed.
My only complaint is that the warmer dries out the rice a little--I definitely wouldn't leave it in for more than a couple of hours (even that is noticeable). Fortunately cooked rice is easily refrigeratable and microwavable so unless you're gone, there's really no need for the warmer to be active that long.
