 Finally a Powerful AND Lightweight Vacuum! September 10, 2010

After a failed spinal fusion my ability to lift, carry, push or pull anything even moderately heavy is gone. The #1 feature I look for in almost anything I buy is it being very lightweight. This for many product types including vacuums usually means getting stuck with a weaker, less well built product so, I was BLOWN AWAY when I got this and discovered that it actually worked better than my old VERY VERY Heavy Full Featured Hoover Vacuum. I have many different floor types in my home including wood floors, natural stone tiles, linoleum and both low pile and high pile Carpets. This vacuum works great on all of them. I didn't think I would use the separate attachment vacuum much but I LOVE it! The dusting and upholstery brush is the highest quality I have ever used. The floor tool has proved invaluable for me though. I use it on the floors and the stairs and thanks to the swivel head I can get around the railings in one swoop. I have used this system almost every day for about 40 days and can say that I am thrilled with this purchase, It has truly made my life easier, made me more functional and my house a lot cleaner.
I would only change 1 thing about the entire system... on the mini-vac there is no hose holder. There are great holders for your attachments but then your hose just hangs there.
The mini-vac system is really light too! Not at all awkward to carry or use.
Mine DID come with a strap cushion.

THis vacuum is so lightweight, but acts like a kirby. The bags are expensive, but very big and I've gone months without having to change it. If you have steps, you can vacuum the steps with the big vacuum it is so light and easy to use. I find that I vacuum much more than I used to. My only request would be a self-winding cord. I love Hoovers and this takes the cake. I love that it doesn't have much plastic on it (breaks too easiily).

Does not have ability to adjust for carpet height and is not self-propelled. I like the small canister, but do not recommend the upright.

I purchased this one to replace an old Hoover bagless vacuum. I wanted to go back to a bagged machine as the bagless ones are so dirty to empty. The first time I used the platinum I couldn't believe the power behind such a lightweight machine! I have only been using it a month now, so I haven't had to change the bag yet. The canister is great for using in the cars, on furniture, etc. The only drawback I can find is having to adjust to not having onboard tools, but the canister is easy to use. The main reason I went with this model was the fact it had a handle on the upright to be able to use it on stairs which it handles great! I would definitely recommend buying this one!!!
